Anyone can create a RunABand account. Musicians, booking agents and venue owners each get their own kind of account, because each unlocks a different part of the app — but they all start from the same place.
Signing up
- On the RunABand home page, choose Get started.
- Enter your name, email address, and a password. (If you are a booking agent or a venue owner, use the links at the bottom of that page instead — see below.)
- Check your inbox for a confirmation email and open the link inside it.
- You are sent straight into the app, already logged in.
You cannot log in until you confirm your email address. If you try, you will get a message telling you so rather than a generic wrong-password error.
About the confirmation link
- It works once, and stops working after you use it.
- It expires after two days.
- If it expired, ask a platform admin to resend it. Signing up again with the same address will not work — it just tells you the account already exists.
- If you never got it, check your spam folder first — see Troubleshooting.
The kinds of account
- Musician — the default. Create or join bands.
- Booking agent — on the sign-up page, follow “Booking agent? Sign up here” at the bottom. Needs approval before you can work.
- Venue owner — on the sign-up page, follow “Own a venue? Sign up here” at the bottom, then claim your venue's listing.
- Sound engineer — you do not sign up for this one. A venue adds you to its staff roster and sends you a claim link. See Sound engineers.
