Joining a band

How invite links work, and the difference between a regular member and a sub.

There is no email invite system for regular members. The owner shares a link, and anyone who opens it joins.

Two links, two kinds of membership

Every band has two separate invite links, both on the Members page. One adds people as regular members, the other adds them as subs. They can be regenerated independently, which immediately invalidates the old link.

Joining from a link

  1. Open the link the owner sent you.
  2. If you do not have an account yet, you are taken to signup — confirming your email drops you straight into the band.
  3. If you are already logged in, you join right away.

Anyone holding the link can join, so treat it like a password. If it leaks, regenerate it from the Members page.

Regular members and subs

  • Regular members are added to the lineup of every new gig by default.
  • Subs are not, and get suggested per gig when a regular is unavailable.
  • This is separate from owner and member permissions — a sub can be either.
  • The owner can switch anyone between regular and sub at any time.
